2017 US Flags Forever First Class Postage Stamps

The 2017 flag stamp is a close crop of the flag in motion: the stripes ripple across the frame and the blue canton with its stars sits in the upper corner. The coil labels read U.S. FLAG 2017, Forever First-Class Rate, Coil of 100 - the quickest way to tell this issue from the 2018 rolls on a shelf.

The Postal Service issues a new flag design most years, so collectors buy by year and everyone else buys whichever is in the drawer. For general mail it is a dependable everyday flag - business correspondence, membership renewals, civic and veterans' organization mail. Available in booklets, rolls and sheets. Forever value applies, so a 2017 stamp bought at 49 cents covers a one-ounce letter at today's rate with nothing to add.
