2025 Love Forever First Class Postage Stamps

The 2025 Love stamp uses Keith Haring's Untitled drawing from 1985: a large red heart with thick black lines radiating out from it, and beneath it two of his unnamed figures with their arms raised toward it. Haring worked in subway stations and on street walls before galleries caught up with him, and the drawing carries that - fast, thick, made to be read from across a room.

The figures have no faces and no detail, which is the reason it works as a Love stamp: nothing tells you who they are or what the relationship is, so the meaning is whatever the sender brings. It goes on Valentine's mail, engagement and anniversary cards, and correspondence from arts organizations and galleries that want something on the envelope other than a flower. Sheets of 20. Haring died in 1990 at 31, and the estate has been careful about licensing since, so seeing the work on something as ordinary as postage is not a small thing.
