Grand Island Ice Cave Express Priority Stamps

The ice caves are on Grand Island, in Lake Superior off Munising, Michigan - sandstone cliffs where groundwater seeps out through the rock face and freezes over the winter into curtains and columns of ice, blue and amber where light gets behind them. They form in a hard winter and not in a mild one. The Postal Service issued the stamp in Munising in January 2020, at a face value of $26.35, in panes of four.

This is a Priority Mail Express stamp, denominated rather than Forever, so it is worth exactly its printed value toward postage and you make up any difference if the Express rate has moved since. At that face value most buyers are either shipping overnight regularly and would rather not queue, or collecting - a $26.35 stamp is not something anyone buys casually. Michigan and Upper Peninsula businesses are the other steady group.
