2022 US Flags in Sheets / Rolls Forever Postage Stamps

Three flags arranged in a circle, echoing the ring of fifty flags that stands around the base of the Washington Monument. Laura Stutzman designed and illustrated it and Ethel Kessler art-directed. The making is the interesting part: the reference was three photographs of the same flag taken seconds apart, then stitched into one composition, so the three flags in the ring are the same piece of fabric caught at three moments.

Sold in sheets and rolls. Rolls are the practical buy for anyone stamping volume at a desk; sheets if they sit in a drawer. It is a flag stamp with slightly more going on than usual, which suits mail that wants to look considered - membership renewals, civic and historical society correspondence, business mail around the patriotic holidays. Forever value applies, so what it cost in 2022 has no bearing on what it covers now.
