The special has aired every year since it was made, so this is a stamp that most households recognize instantly and read as their own childhood rather than as a licensed property. It goes on Christmas cards, and specifically on the cards going to people roughly your own age. Booklets of 20 - most families sending cards buy several. Anything left in January keeps its full value as a Forever stamp, which is not true of the dated holiday issues people used to discard.
