Celebrate Forever First Class Postage Stamps

The Neon Celebrate stamp is what it sounds like: the word rendered as bent glass tubing, glowing against a dark ground the way a sign over a diner or a theatre marquee does. The Postal Service first issued it in 2011 and brought it back in 2015. Neon signage itself goes back to a 1910 demonstration in Paris by the French scientist Georges Claude, and the stamp trades on that association - the look belongs to bars, arcades and late-night storefronts rather than to anything official.

It goes on mail that is announcing something. Birthday and anniversary cards, engagement and wedding invitations, graduation announcements, the envelope holding the retirement card everyone in the office signed. Sheets of 20 help when you are sending the same thing to a list rather than one at a time. As a Forever stamp it covers a one-ounce letter at today's 82¢ rate, so a sheet bought several rate changes ago is still worth exactly one letter per stamp.
