Horse Forever Postage Stamps

Five photographs of horses, chosen by art director Derry Noyes from existing work by Stephanie Moon and Karen Wegehenkel. Three stand against green foliage: a dappled white stallion with a gray mane, a russet horse with a copper mane and white facial markings, and a golden chestnut with a chalk-white mane. A brown spotted horse with a pale mane stands in snowy woods, and a chestnut with a white blaze is shot against plain black. The selvage shows a chestnut looking out of a Dutch barn window.

The Postal Service released them in June 2024 at St. Joseph, Missouri, during the Pony Express Re-Ride - the annual horseback relay that retraces the original route, which is a better venue for a horse stamp than a ceremony hall.
