Patriotic Spiral Forever First Class Postage Stamps

Patriotic Spiral came out in 2016, and it is about as plain-spoken as a patriotic stamp gets without actually being a flag. Fifty stars, red and blue, spiral inward around a single gold star at the center, all on a white field. Read it as fifty states orbiting a common point, or just as a nice piece of geometry - the design does not push the point either way. It was sold in booklets of 10 rather than the usual 20, which is why it tends to turn up in odd quantities in desk drawers.

Being a Forever stamp, it covers a one-ounce letter at the current 82¢ rate no matter what it cost the day it was printed. It suits mail that should read as patriotic without reading as a holiday: voter registration forms, membership renewals for veterans' organizations, condolence cards to a military family, general correspondence around Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. It also works as a default for business mail, since nobody has strong feelings about a star.
