Santa and Sleigh Forever First Class Postage Stamps

The four stamps assemble into one picture. Arranged two by two, they show a classic Santa and his reindeer circling above snow-covered rooftops, with the scene running across all four panels rather than repeating in each. The Postal Service issued them in New York in October 2012 at the Mega Stamp Show, in booklets of 20.

A design split across four stamps has a practical consequence worth knowing: put all four on one large envelope or package and the picture is whole; use them singly and each is a fragment. Card senders tend to use them one to an envelope and never notice; people mailing packages to grandchildren line up all four. Booklets of 20 hold five of each. As Forever stamps they keep their value indefinitely, so a book left over from one December is a book ready for the next.
