Four objects, no people: a cowboy boot with a spur, a cowboy hat, a western shirt, and a belt buckle carrying a longhorn head. Ryan Feerer drew them and Greg Breeding art-directed. The illustrations are built with stippling - image made out of small dots of color - which gives them a worn, printed-poster texture rather than a clean vector look. Western wear started as work clothing and became something people choose, which is roughly what the stamps are about. They go on rodeo and livestock association mail, western-wear and tack retailers' correspondence, ranch and country wedding invitations, and mail out of Texas and the mountain states generally.
