Love Stamps by Year
The Postal Service has issued a Love stamp most years since the 1970s, with a new design each time. Most listings here carry the issue year in their name; the two that don't are Love Flourishes (2018) and Made of Hearts (2020).
The newest, the 2026 Love stamp, puts four bird-and-heart scenes on one sheet, which is unusual for a series that normally runs one or two designs. A mixed sheet keeps a stack of cards from looking identical.
Older years still mail at full value, because a Forever stamp always covers the current one-ounce letter price. A 2019 sheet works on this year's valentine with nothing to add.
Valentine's Day Stamps and Everyday Cards
Valentine's mail is the obvious use, but most Love designs carry anniversary, birthday and thank-you cards just as well. The 2023 issue, a kitten and a puppy with their paws over a heart, suits notes to family and mail from shelters and vet offices.
The 2024 Love stamp shows a geometric white bird carrying a pink envelope sealed with a heart. It is one of the few Love designs that is actually about mail, which makes it a good fit for letters to someone far away.
Check the size if you send a valentine without an envelope. A card gets the postcard price only up to 4.25 x 6 inches; anything larger pays the letter price, $0.82 as of July 12, 2026 on the USPS price list, which a Love stamp covers.
Love Stamps for Wedding Mail
Couples use Love stamps on save-the-dates, RSVP envelopes and thank-you notes. Love Flourishes, a hand-painted garden of roses, peonies and dahlias around the word Love in cursive, has a retro palette that sits well in a wedding suite.
Sheets with two backgrounds help with wedding mail. The 2022 issue prints the same folk-art blooms on coral and on powder blue, so you can stamp invitations in one color and reply envelopes in the other.
A full invitation with a reply card and insert usually weighs more than one ounce, which one Love stamp won't cover. Our wedding stamps include two-ounce designs made for that.
Love Stamp FAQ
What does the Love stamp symbolize?
The Love series stands for affection in general, not only romance, which is why designs range from hearts and flowers to pets and birds carrying letters. USPS has issued a new Love design most years since the 1970s.
How much are love stamps worth?
As postage, every Love stamp here is a Forever stamp worth the current one-ounce letter price, $0.82 as of July 12, 2026. That holds no matter which year it was printed.
Is there a difference between Forever stamps and postcard stamps?
Yes. A Forever stamp covers a one-ounce letter ($0.82 as of July 12, 2026), while a postcard stamp covers only the $0.65 postcard price, so it won't cover a valentine sent in an envelope.
